Interamerican College of Radiology

The Interamerican College of Radiology (CIR) is a non-profit organization founded in compliance with the second resolution of the final act of the First Interamerican Congress of Radiology, held in 1943 in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

It is made up of National Scientific Groupings of Radiology and other forms of diagnostic imaging (societies, associations, federations, colleges and others), called National Groupings of the American Continent and countries outside of it, linked by scientific, language and cultural ties.

The CIR is a totally apolitical entity and may not make any discrimination for economic, ethnic, religious or any other reason that offends human dignity.

GENERAL MEETING

The General Assembly is the highest body of the College and is made up of one representative, called Councilor, for each of the National Groupings that constitute the College. Each country is entitled to one vote.

The General Assembly meets in ordinary session once a year and in extraordinary session when necessary and in the manner determined by the Bylaws.

Every two years, during the Inter-American Congresses of Radiology, an electoral General Assembly is held, in which the candidacies for the renewal of the executive positions are analyzed and voted upon.
